You've Got a Friend

I just had to include this classic:

"You've Got A Friend"

When you're down in troubles
And you need some love and care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon i will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there
Yes I will
You've got a friend

If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend

When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don't you let them

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

Beautiful

After seeing the musical 'Beautiful' the Carole King story, I just had to share this song:

Carole King
(from Tapestry)

You've got to get up every morning
With a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart

Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes you will
That you're beautiful, as you feel

Waiting at the station with a workday wind a-blowing
I've got nothing to do but watch the passers-by
Mirrored in their faces I see frustration growing

And they don't see it showing, why do I?

You've got to get up every morning
With a smile on your face

And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You're gonna find, yes you will

That you're beautiful as you feel

I have often asked myself the reason for sadness
In a world where tears are just a lullaby

If there's any answer, maybe love can end the madness
Maybe not, oh, but we can only try

Journal

My mission today was to visit Leadenhall Market, which features in the Harry Potter movie

I then started my walk over to the Aldwych Theatre, to see 'Beautiful'

On the way I passed Hardy's, the original sweet shop, with all the old time favourites.

I couldn't resist another photo of the beautiful St Paul's with a 'new design' double decker bus.

This sculpture on the opposite side of the road shows an interesting reflection of the cathedral ... oh & of me ... LOL

'Beautiful' was an amazing musical & well worth seeing.

I decided to head over to Leicester Square, to catch the tube.

I had to go through Covent Garden on the way & saw this magnificent reindeer.

And of course another visit to m&m World, which was packed & open till midnight.
...... always a photo opportunity there!

Christmas Day

I received a very cute card from my daughter, which set the scene for Christmas.
Baxter wasn't too happy about losing my attention ... LOL

Caught up with Mitchell, from Australia, to start the celebrations off

Where do you take your 'new best friend' on Christmas Eve? ......

Baxter was very happy!

.... and satisfied

Santa gave Baxter a lovely big bone.

Now that Baxter was suitably satisfied, it was off to 'catch up' with Nicholas & Mitchell.

Then it was off to Iselworth for Christmas lunch with Shelagh and her family. In my teenage years, I lived next door to Shelagh, in Cardiff & it was lovely to see her Mum there, as well. I was greeted by 'Fat Cat', the biggest cat I've ever seen :)

It was lovely meeting Shelagh's family.

After taking lots of photos & opening lots of presents, it was time for lunch!

The end of a perfect day :)

M&M's World London

A quick stroll down to my local tube station & it's off to London town. Today I'm off to see 'Thriller' Michael Jackson at the Lyric Theatre. So I caught the tube to Leicester Square & had a few more experiences 'along the way'.

M&M World, Leicester Square ... WOW...what a concept store!
4 Levels of m & m merchandise!
Entry is through a 'double decker bus'

I bought a nice tin of m&m's

... a Christmas tree decoration

... & a bag to put them in!

I passed 'Ripley's Believe it or Not'.

Discovered Jamie Oliver's 'Diner', where I had a beautiful Reuben sandwich.
Saw some Hari Krishna devotees go past .

'Thriller' at the Lyric Theatre was awesome!

After the show the Christmas lights looked amazing.

M&M World was all lit up

... and it was all happening at Leicester Square...

My 'best friend' loved hearing how my day had gone.

... before I knew it, he was asleep ... oh well !

I had a trip to Gillingham today to meet my next 'new best friends'!
I like to thInk that's a look of excitement!

Then it was back home to beautiful Baxter, who was so proud of himself for retrieving some rubbish, to rip up & 'destroy' ... "Go Baxter!"

Finally .... bed time :)
